Our Instruments

All our instruments are hand made, using the techniques believed used by the Cremonese genius, Stradivarius.

The wood is chosen on the basis of grain evenness and density for the spruce fronts and for the backs and ribs on figuring of the wood, which will be maple from some region of the high Alps or possibly Scotland.

A combination of factors will eventually determine the quality of sound produced by the finished instrument and, once the instrument has been played in, adjustments are made in conjunction with the player to obtain the optimal sound for the style of music played..
